Block N is the independent studio of designer and artist Niklas Block, founded in 2016. Originally focused on graphic design and visual communication, the studio gradually evolved into a space for independent artistic work and experimental publishing.

Niklas Block, (b. 1991) is a graphic designer and visual artist based in Karlsruhe, Germany. Through his independent studio Block N, his work explores geometry, generative systems, experimental printmaking, and programmatic drawing across print and digital media.

His career began as a media designer in 2010 and studied Visual Communication in Stuttgart, graduating with distinction in 2017.

Alongside commissioned work, collaborating with cultural institutions, magazines and creative clients on projects ranging from editorial design and visual identities, he develops independent series and editions that investigate patterns, structures and algorithmic processes in visual design.
